Colonic Hydrotherapy
Colonic Hydrotherapy is a safe and effective method of exercising the colon.
The treatment enables your body to eliminate stored faecal matter, gas, mucus, toxic and poisonous substances, which if left in the body can lead to more serious health problems.
This treatment involves gently introducing filtered water into the large intestine (bowel) through a small tube, and then allowing the water – along with any loose debris – to exit through a larger tube.
This is conducted using a closed system, so there is no odour or direct contact with waste. Throughout the process you will be supported and well taken care of – so the overall experience should be comfortable and relaxing. All equipment used during a treatment is single-use and disposable, prioritising hygiene and safety.
Every treatment is tailored to suit the individual, and I offer an optional probiotic booster delivered directly into the colon. This is an excellent way to introduce good bacteria, as it bypasses the lengthy digestive tract.
What are the advantages of colonic hydrotherapy?
- Improved bowel transit time, which is particularly beneficial for people with constipation, IBS-C/mixed type or sluggish digestion
- Assists conditions secondary to poor bowel function
- It tones and and exercises the colon while removing excess waste, leading to better function
- Increased absorption of nutrients through bowel wall
- Reduced congestion of kidneys, lungs and skin
- Increased energy and well being
- Forms part of a naturopathic approach for an overall improvement in health and reduction of uncomfortable, disruptive digestive symptoms
- Optional probiotic gut-health booster following treatment allows good bacteria the opportunity to repopulate and thrive in a clean environment
Who can come for a colonic?
I am registered with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) for Colonic Hydrotherapy which means I am held to a high standard of practice and professional ethics.
There are some instances in which it is not safe to receive colonic hydrotherapy – these situations are known as contra-indications and new clients should check this list.
If in doubt, please reach out before booking, as I may refer you to your GP in the first instance.
